Removed 1st baffle today. I used a 44mm holesaw to cut outer baffle. Then used the tried method of crowbar down the baffle, moving it up and down, left and right to try and snap the 2 tack welds. After 45mins I had to resort to a more technical approach. A plastic hammer on the baffle outlet and smashing it with a large mallet. 10 more finger stinging minutes and hey presto, it broke the weld. Another 5 mins to wiggle the baffle out with stilsons.
I started the bike but to be honest in my garage I could not hear too much difference.
Now I have to retighten the exhaust at the centre box from the baffles being writhed side to side. Plus the otherside to do.
Guys, I'm in the middle of removing the baffles on my standard cans and I've released the ends of both sides using a hole saw and now I'm into trying to snap the inner tack welds off. I've tried the crow bar waggle waggle method and the whack the
thing with a hammer but nothing seems to work. Can you tell me where the tack welds are so I might be able to concentrate my efforts?
