Disused formula 1 racetrack in France
« on: 23 August, 2013, 07:12:23 PM »
Recently visited northern France on the cbf and went to Gueux just outside Reims. The D26 road long ,straight and fast has all the old preserved grandstands and pit buildings. The locals are renovating what they can and you get a real sense of history. Bit eerie too;road was really quiet, but you don't have to try too hard to get a sense of what went on there. Anyone remember Stirling Moss and Fangio ? Well worth a visit if you're in those parts.
Had to gun the biffer up and down the start finish a few times just for the hell of it. (careful tho cos the local gendarmes live at the end of the road.

Hey, I just visited the place on Google earth, looks pretty good. Do you know where the rest of the track went? all I could see was the straight
