« on: 21 March, 2007, 09:06:48 AM »
Hi mates,
Till I'll change my tyres and valves with angle tyre valves, I decided to try the following :
I posted this photo and another one for those who want to see at my Gallery. Thank you

I've read somewhere that you should rebalance your wheels with these on, to avoid high speed weaving. Have you heard something similar?

No I don't Vlassi. But you can always remove it and carry it with you. I have 2 of them, and I used them for my BMW.
If you find out something I must know about please let me know.

Don't drive the bike with this items fitted to the valves
The centrifugal forces could be too high
The centre of gravity is not in line with the standard tyre valves and at higher speeds the original valves could be torned out off the rim at the side opposite to the new unit. You could slowly loose some pressure and that's dangerous.
I should not want to take the risk

:460:  It seems egberto has a point there.  :460:

Trumpet what did you experience with the heavy valve caps?

I seem to remember a similar argument against tireflies http://www.ultimaterider.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=TF and pressure indicator caps http://eagleday.stores.yahoo.net/vitiprin.html. Although they may not be a problem, why take the chance?

As rider says,  you could simply remove it after adjusting the pressure; though I find that some air always leaks out when removing the air-pump or gauge.
I wish someone would come up with a more robust and usable design!  :003:

A really bad vibration. No weaving ,did'nt fancy leaning it over at high speed,

:029:I must be missing something here,
As i have been on two wheels for a very long time had around 20 bikes some small ,most big.
And i have never had a problem with filling with air,or checking pressure, some are a little awkward but not hard

i agree with Chunky cant say I've had any major probs filling with air or checking but the angle thing looks slightly more convenient to use so seems like a good idea. every little helps!
