HISS RECEIVER PROBLEM

Hi Guys,
I had this problem bad on my CBF-F mk2 2011.
I removed the HISS  ring & its wiring after unplugging it from behind the headlight. As stated here, the wiring is very thin and 1 or 2 had broken due to the constant back & forth turning of the handlebars. I cut all the wires at the bend point and re-joined them with heat shrink connections. This imediately solved the non starting problem. It's now over a year on and I think the fault may be recurring again as the wiring is now bending at a different point. I fear the only permanent solution would be to rewire all the HISS wiring with thicker gauge stuff? Or replace HISS with a new unit. A last resort!!!

Well you've tacked on the end of a 2012 post, so after nearly 8 years I'd say there was more experience about now but I don't recall seeing much trouble in general with this wiring.  Every bike out there has the odd few that rub looms/sub-looms but often this is due to them being mispositioned.  The wiring on the Honda is very tight already.

I'd say you want to use more flexible wire rather than thicker.  Who knows what type you used a year ago but something nearer the original would be better (never heard of anyone's failing in a year).

Hi Again,
Don't know if wiring has broken again yet. It just wouldn't cycle the fuel pump this morning until I moved the bars back & forth and this is similar symptom to last time. Never replaced the stock wiring either, I just rejoined it with good quality shrink joiners. If it does fail again then I will ponder more on type of wiring and covering to do this with. You know the saying, "Don't fix it unless it's broken".
