Went into my local-ish dealer yesterday to get a quote for the 32k service on my mk1 biffer. ..........

Probably not a good omen when I had explain to the 2 guys on the service counter what would need doing on the 32k service - they should know what's involved wouldn't they? "Valve clearances sir,  are you sure? "

They also didn't mention the clutch and brake fluid change,  despite me telling them old the bike was  :027:

So after a 'very rough estimate' of £400 and no desire to work it out and give me a quote,  I think it's time to give up on the dealer completely and stick to spreading the servicing and tyres the two local independent garages.  If it is to be £400, I'd rather it went to one of them.

Crap service to say the least and that was after I'd spent a good 15 minutes looking at a brand new mk2 GT biffer and a 2015 Crosstuner. ....looks I'll be going further afield to look at a new bike.

Thats a good price if they did the valve check.

Noticed in our local Tesco today they have Castrol Power1 4t at £6.50  :028: a litre (£4 off).
Dont know if its all their stores, but worth checking out for that price  if anyone uses this oil.

Keep an eye open at Halfrods who frequently have oil on offer, my last lot I got a buy one get one half price deal and as I was buying oil for our cars as well I ended up with an overall 25% off.  Halfrods fully synthetic motorcycle oil 5W40 at £28 for 5 ltrs :028:.  Used to use Fuchs Oil but started to get way too expensive.  Halfords oil is blended by Comma at either Dartford or Gravesend refinery (can't remember which).
