If we all post our service costs here, then over time time we will build a picture of how costs and standards vary across the country.
Please state if you have a CBF mk 1 (2 exhausts) or a CBF mk 2 (single exhaust) or other bike ie Triumph Tiger 1050cc. Also any other work you have done.

I'll state the ball rolling with my last service
    16000 mile service 7/7/2011 CBF mk1
2 new shims fitted and all the usual bits.
Additional work new front brake pads and a MOT test.
Total cost including a 10% CBF forum owners club discount = £538.61 (ouch, ouch :019:)
Dealer Reading Honda part of the Blade group where I have always had good service.

Josiah (still) :125:( needs koffy and has a very light wallet now)

Hi Josiah, I do my own servicing so can't contribute but for the work you've had done I think the charge was reasonable, never the less a lot of money. -Snibor

Perhaps separated totals for a) Parts & b) Labour as charged would be useful?

    Hi Josiah.
Might I suggest you simplify this a little and focus on the dealer's hourly rate.
Honda parts should cost the same across the country and similarly, labour time is probably taken from a manufacturer's manual. If you find the hourly rate is fairly consistent, then you can look more closely at the work duration for set-piece activities.

I would like to know how many hours labour that allows for.
The MOT fee is £29.65, so that's £215.35 for the following?....

    Inspect Fuel Line
    Inspect Throttle Operation
    Inspect Spark Plug
    Inspect Radiator Coolant
    Inspect Cooling System
    Inspect Secondary Air Supply System
    Inspect Drive Chain Slider
    Inspect Brake System
    Inspect Brake Light Switch
    Inspect Headlight Aim
    Inspect Side Stand
    Inspect Suspension
    Inspect Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners
    Inspect Wheels/Tyres
    Inspect Steering Head Bearings

    CBF mk 1
600 mile service free (but I think the Honda policy has changed since 2008)
    4000 mile service 9/4/09
    total cost = £146.06
    8000 mile service 20/10/09
total cost = £189.14 (including discount)
I can't find the reciept for the 12000 mile service when I do I'll post it.
edit, I've just found my reciept for the 12000 mile service.
    12000 mile service: Labour £143.83, Parts £63.74 Total after VAT £243.90 (vat @ 17.5%) 4/9/2010.

All of the above had no extra work done.

Josiah (still) :125:(but now my brain hurts and I kneed more koffy)
    footnote
I'm only simple and my storiers simply told, I have squandered my cash on
Whoops sorry what I meant to say was

That's ridiculous for 8k service plus MOT! Are Hunts being run by S*mali pirates? I paid £145 inc VAT for 8k at Norton Honda. :156:
